In relation to taxation, a business structure such as an LLC or a Partnership in which business income is treated as personal income of the Members (LLC) or Partners (Partnership), rather than the legal entity itself. It is used to avoid “double taxation,” when business income (in a Corporation) is subject to corporate tax and then to the owner’s personal income.
