Gross margin, or gross profit margin, is net sales minus the cost of goods sold (COGS), showing the amount of profit made before deducting selling, general, and administrative costs (SG&A). Net margin is gross revenue minus COGS as well as product distribution, sales rep wages, miscellaneous operating expenses, and taxes. Relates to equity, debt and real estate.
